Bobby Mattina is a communications and digital media professional who has directed political, governmental, non-profit, and corporate communications. He has worked with campaigns in 20 states, members of both the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, and non-profits across the country from Alaska to Florida.
Previously, Bobby worked as a digital strategist for BCom Solutions, where his clients included congressional campaigns in Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, and Rhode Island. He also worked with non-profits, helping one client grow their list by 800% and bring tens of thousands of new contacts — and hundreds of new supporters — to their cause.
During Donald Trump’s first term, Bobby worked as Communications Director for Democratic Congressman Denny Heck, a member of the House Intelligence Committee. He prepared the Congressman for and staffed him at over 100 cable news interviews, securing bookings during some of the most highly sought time slots on all three major cable news networks.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Bobby planned and executed 30 digital town halls to ensure the Congressman could remain connected with his constituents and disseminate important information about the ongoing pandemic.
Before joining Congressman Heck’s office, Bobby was the Digital Director for the Washington State Democrats, managing all of the party’s digital communications during the pivotal 2017 special election that flipped the Washington Senate from red to blue. Bobby also directed statewide digital strategy during the blue wave of 2018, when the Washington State Democrats helped flip the state’s 8th Congressional District and post large gains in the state House and Senate — all while successfully defending each and every seat held by a Democrat in the state.
His digital communications journey began in 2008 when he worked as a cinematographer and video editor for a production company in Wilmington, Delaware.
Bobby earned a J.D. from Georgetown University, where he studied national security and aviation law, and a B.A. in creative writing from Johns Hopkins University.
During the last few years, Bobby wrote a 120,000 word science fiction novel, which he is now pitching to literary agents. He enjoys reading science fiction and is an avid amateur wildlife photographer.
